Blog Comments
Comments are handled by our own comments service; no third-party comment provider is involved. When you post a comment we store your name, the comment text, your email address if you choose to give one (it is never displayed), and the IP address and browser user agent used to submit it. We use the IP address and user agent only to prevent spam and abuse, for example to limit how often comments can be posted. Comments are published only after moderation. Comments that are not approved are deleted after 30 days, and for approved comments the IP address, user agent and email address are erased 30 days after posting. Your name and comment stay published until you ask us to remove them through our contact page.

Consent Management
We ask for your cookie and advertising preferences using our own consent banner, which appears the first time you visit. Until you allow them, advertising and analytics storage stay switched off by default using Google Consent Mode, so Google is told not to use cookies for personalised advertising or analytics.
Google's advertising and analytics scripts load on every page. Until you allow cookies they run without setting advertising or analytics cookies, but Google still receives your IP address, the page address and basic browser information so that it can serve non-personalised ads and count visits.
Please note: we do not currently use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Consent-Based Processing
We process your personal data with your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, or where the law permits processing without it (for example, server logs kept for security). Consent is obtained through our cookie consent banner and contact form submissions. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at contact@codertronix.com. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
Your Rights Under DPDPA
As a Data Principal under the DPDPA, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You have the right to obtain a summary of your personal data being processed and the processing activities undertaken.
- Right to Correction: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate or misleading personal data, and completion of incomplete personal data.
- Right to Erasure: You have the right to request erasure of your personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
- Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to register a grievance with our Grievance Officer and receive a response within a reasonable timeframe.
- Right to Nominate: You have the right to nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
Data Fiduciary Obligations
As a Data Fiduciary, Codertronix undertakes to:
- Process personal data only for lawful purposes for which consent was given
- Implement reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of personal data
- Delete personal data when it is no longer needed for the stated purpose or when consent is withdrawn

Cross-Border Data Transfer
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside India, including the United States (for Google Analytics and Google AdSense services). Such transfers are made in compliance with the DPDPA and are limited to countries or territories notified by the Central Government of India as permissible for data transfer. By using our website and providing consent, you acknowledge and agree to such cross-border transfers.
12. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. The following retention periods apply:
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4): 14 months from the date of collection. This is the default retention period configured in our GA4 property. After this period, user-level and event-level data is automatically deleted.
- Cookie consent records: 6 months from the date consent was given or updated. After this period, the consent banner will reappear to collect fresh consent preferences.
- Blog comments: Comments that are not approved are deleted after 30 days. The IP address, user agent and email address stored with approved comments are erased 30 days after posting; the published name and comment text are kept until you ask us to remove them.
- Contact form submissions: 12 months from the date of submission. We retain contact form data to respond to inquiries and maintain a record of correspondence. After 12 months, submissions are permanently deleted unless ongoing communication requires retention.
- Server logs: 30 days from the date of creation. Access logs and error logs containing IP addresses and request data are retained for security monitoring and debugging purposes, then automatically purged.
Legal Basis for Retention
Our retention periods are based on the following considerations:
- Contractual necessity: Data needed to fulfill a service request (e.g., responding to a contact form inquiry) is retained until the purpose is fulfilled.
- Legitimate interest: Server logs and analytics data are retained for website security, performance monitoring, and content improvement.
- Legal obligation: Some data may be retained longer if required by applicable law, regulation, or legal proceedings.
- Consent: Where processing is based on consent, data is retained until consent is withdrawn, subject to the retention periods above.
When personal data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized so that it can no longer be associated with you.
